This lace is in excellent, strong condition, one end is finished and one end has been cut. This came from a family that has been dealing in lace since the mid 1800s, this was part of their private collection, I will give the provenance to the buyer. There are 2 small stains, this lace is otherwise in excellent, strong condition, quite remarkable, really. This came from a family that has been dealing in lace since the mid 1800s, this was part of their private collection, I will give the provenance to the buyer. This lace has the wonderful hand of early linen, buttery soft and smooth.

Handmade Point D’Angleterre lace lappet circa 1790 Handmade Point D’Angleterre lace lappet circa 1790. There are 2 pieces of this lace each measuring 3.75 by 22 inches, the design elements are organic with pretty stylized flowers. The mesh on the edges is similar to the type of lace used in Point de gaze but it is braided in 4 strands rather than the on strand used in de gaze lace, you need at least 10x magnification to see this. There are some small breaks in the mesh, the lace is otherwise in very good, strong condition. This came from a family that has been dealing in lace since the mid 1800s, this was part of their private collection, I will give the provenance to the buyer.
