Linen Madeira coasters or mats circa 1930 This is a set of 2 large linen coasters or mats fron Madeira. These mats measure 9.5 inches in diameter, they have scalloped edges with hand embroidered butonhole stitches, each scallop is embellished with cutwork and more embroidery. The mats are in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them. Very elegant!

Society silk coaster or goblet round circa 1900 This is a society silk and linen coaster or goblet round circa about 1900. Society silk pieces were those pieces done by well to do ladies who had the money and the skill to work in silk, these were the piece they took with them to work on when they went on social calls and such to show off their needle working skills. This goblet round measures 6.5 inches in diameter including the fringe the silk embroidery is a shiny gold. This piece is in very good condition, i have washed and pressed it.

3 society silk coasters or goblet rounds circa about 1900 This is a set of 3 lovely society silk linen coasters of goblet rounds circa about 1900. Society silk pieces were those pieces done by well to do ladies who had the money and the skill to work in silk, these were the piece they took with them to work on when they went on social calls and such to show off their needle working skills. These rounds measure 6 inches in diameter, the scalloped edges and swirling designs are in cream silk. There is a small light stain on one, they are otherwise in very good-excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them.

These ecru and white linen goblet rounds measure 7 inches in diameter the lace is the finest handmade Italian needle lace hand stitched to very high quality linen, they look like Porthault to me and considering that this estate had the best quality items and were even stored in the best (a Goyard trunk no less) I do believe it’s likely that they are Porthault. The family name is Iselin of the America’s Cup fame. There is a stain on the lace of one that is pictured, they are otherwise in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them. These are the same as item # 7358 except the lace is a slightly lighter color.

The family name is Iselin of the America’s Cup fame. There is a small fray in the lace on 2 of the rounds, they are otherwise in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them.
