5986

Whitework embroidered hankie signed Sophie Bourne 1825-50 Lovely whitework embroidered hankie signed Sophie Bourne in the center circa 2nd quarter of the 1800s. This cream hankie measures 16.5 by 17 inches, it has lovely hand embroidered whitework with little teensy needle lace filling stitches in the flower centers and interesting drawnwork and appliquéd squares in the corners. I have taken a pic with my pinky finger in it to show how fine the handwork is, the signature is in old ink in the center of the hanky. There are about a dozen small holes in the fabric, I have pictured some of the largest ones which are quite small, the hanky is otherwise in good condition.
