Circa: 1670 Condition: used excellent Size: 10.25 by 145 inches (4yards 1 inch) Color: cream Country of Origin: Italy Manufacturer: Milanese lace
Handmade linen Milanese bobbin lace circa 1600s. This cream linen lace measures 10.25 by 145 inches (4yards 1 inch). The design elements are organic with stylized flowers in a pretty, flowing, scrolling pattern, lovely handwork. There are 2 small stains, this lace is otherwise in excellent, strong condition, quite remarkable, really. This came from a family that has been dealing in lace since the mid 1800s, this was part of their private collection, I will give the provenance to the buyer. This lace has the wonderful hand of early linen, buttery soft and smooth. |
