Fabulous handmade figural linen Cantu lace tablecloth circa 1900. This Ecru lace tablecloth measures 70 by 100 inches, it is entirely made by hand in linen, most of these Cantu lace tablecloths were cotton, but this one is linen, it is weightier and has a better drape than cotton, the hand is entirely different, cool to touch. The design elements are classic with birds, flowers, scrolls, and cherubs doing assorted activities, the more you look at this tablecloth, the more you will see. There are 4 light stains ranging in size from 5-20mm, there are also some repairs, but you have to look closely to see them and in a piece with this much going on, there are probably a few broken bridges, though the few I did see when I was ironing it, I repaired. Over-all it is in good condition, I have washed and pressed it. |
