| This cream linen sheet measures 80 by 136 inches, the hems are hand stitched with fine little almost invisible stitches, there are 2 rows of drawnwork with HAND wrapped ladders, the turndown is 42 inches long! The hand embroidered monogram reads JW for John Wanamaker, the founder of the Wanamaker stores. Wanamakers was considered the first department store in Philadelphia, they were known for luxury goods, particularly from France. The Wanamaker family was quite wealthy and well known, the linens from the estate were of the finest quality and with the family monogram is truly a fine piece of history! This sheet is in excellent condition, It looks to have been rarely used, the fabric is of the best quality French linen with a cool hand and fluid drape. It will be pure luxury to sleep under! |
