Handmade Point d'Angleterre lace flounce circa mid 1800s museum de-accession. There are 2 lengths of this cream lace, one measures 3.25 by 82 inches, and the other 3.25 by 34 inches for a total of 116 inches (3+ yards). The lace is entirely handmade and is a combination of needle lace mesh and bobbin lace designs. Design elements are floral with beautifully detailed flowers that seem to float amidst the pt de gaze mesh background, beautiful design and handwork! There are 4 small holes, on the longer piece and 3 small holes (the largest is about 3mm) in the smaller piece, the lace is otherwise in excellent, strong, well cared for condition, it was stored in acid free archival paper and still has the little museum number tag on the edge of each piece.
