Color: natural linen
Homespun linen and lace tablecloth with silk applique. This natural linen color tablecloth measures 27 by 46 inches, the tablecloth is made using substantial homespun fabric, the drawn work lace is all hand wrapped, the designs look German or Dutch, the Torchon edging lace was added at a later date, probably around 1900, the tablecloth looks to be early 1800s. The applique is gold, cream and fuchsia hand stitched onto the linen with silk thread. There is some loss to the silk applique, the tablecloth is otherwise in good as found condition. I have not washed it, the linen is very supple, it has the very cool feeling of early linen. |
