Handmade Brussels Point de Gaze lace circa 1850-70s. This ecru lace is all the same lace, the top piece is 2 lengths joined together which could easily be taken apart if desired. The top piece measures 26 by 6.5 inches, the middle piece 18 by 3.25 inches and the bottom piece 21 by 3.25 for a total of 70 inches of lace if you separated the top piece. The design elements are floral with lovely roses with extra petals, fine handwork! The top piece has about 7 small holes total in the mesh, the middle piece 8 small holes, and the bottom piece 5 small holes, the lace is otherwise in good condition. This is beautiful lace that required skill and patience to make. |
