Thick, heavy French homespun hemp sheet circa 1800s. This cream sheet measures 90 inches wide by 62 inches long, the center seam is hand stitched as are the hems. There are 2 stains the size of a silver dollar and 2 small faint stains, pea size, there are 2 very small holes, the sheet is otherwise good. Hemp fabric feels similar to linen but its usually coarser, as you can see in the pictures, the fabric and weaving are tight, even though the fabric looks coarse, it is actually fairly soft. Linen and hemp become softer with each washing and use. This sheet will last a very long time. or the fabric could be used for other purposes. |
