Dressy black satin jacket circa 1930s. This unlined jacket measures 24.5 inches long shoulder to hem, the sleeves are 19 inches long with a generous hem, chest is 38 inches and the bottom is 38 inches. The piece is well made with a combination of hand and machine stitching the collar, armholes and side seams are bound with bias tape, there is a 1 button closure in the front but the button is missing, the fabric isn't silk, rayon most likely, there is some slight fading at the cuff edges and hem edges and the back of the collar, the garment is otherwise good, it will need to be cleaned, the fabric is strong and supple. |
