Lovely hand embroidered whitework and linen hankie signed Myra Mara circa 1st half of the 1800s. This light cream hankie measures 15 by 16 inches, the scalloped edges are hand embroidered as are the flower bouquets and the pretty little flowering vines along the edge, the bouquet leaves have little needle lace filling stitches, skilled handwork. The signature is in old ink in the center of the hanky, there is a little banner surrounded by flowers with the name Myra Mara on it, fine work. There are some small holes in the linen that can be seen in the pictures, the hanky is otherwise in good condition. |
