| Fabric swatch card circa 1920s. This card measures 10 by 16 inches, the fabrics were by Whitco Fabric guaranteed fast colors, it depicts a little girl and her mother out for a spring walk. there is a cardboard slid inside that has the fabric glued onto it, there would have been a number of fabric swatches glued to different cards that one could slide into the pattern cutout so one could see what their dress would look like in that particular fabric, very clever! I only have the one fabric swatch inside the card. The card has a fair amount of age browning and the fabric also has some dirt on it, there are also 3 tears of the cardboard on the woman cut out and a small piece missing, still its an interesting piece of marketing ephemera. |
