Homespun linen pouch or bag with fine hand embroidered monogram circa 1800s. This bag measures 8 by 13 inches with the top folded over, there are 2 drawstrings on the top of the flap closure, the monogram is on the top of the flap, it reads EOB in a fine indigo thread using vegetal dyes, the seams were stitched on a treadle machine. This bag is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. I think this bag would make a great gift to put a bottle of wine or champagne in, or perhaps as a lovely bag to put a nighty in for a bridal shower, one could put all sorts of great gifts in this bag! |
