Lot of handmade Burano needle lace circa late 1700s to about 1810. There are 4 pieces of lace, one (the top piece) has finished ends, it measures 1.75 by 21 inches, there are about 6 tiny holes in the mesh, the second piece measures 11.5 by 1.75, it has one small hole, the 3rd is 12.5 by 1.75 its all good, and the last piece is 10.5 b7 2.25, its good as well. The lace mesh has the little fish hook lace and hazy appearance of Burano, but it isn't the stuff made in the late 1800's, this is much earlier. This is nice lace, the top piece looks like it could be a collar since its finished all the way around. |
