This is a set of 8 linen damask napkins with a hand embroidered Crown and G monogram dated 1905, this set belonged to George II of the Princely House of Saxe-Meiningen (HH Reigning Duke George II of Saxe-Meiningen and Hildburghausen) . These beautiful napkins measure 32 by 37 inches, the hems are hand stitched with teensy almost invisible stitches, lovely handwork. The damask pattern is a very stylized floral with curlicues and leaves. The napkins appear to have very little use, they are in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them. The linen is of the highest quality as one would expect linens owned by royalty to be, incredible hand and drape! These are really fabulous napkins! |
