| This is a very striking Art Deco damask tablecloth and napkin set in cotton rayon blend with hand embroidered monogram circa 1920-30’s. This set consists of a tablecloth measuring 59 by 100 inches and 11 matching napkins 20.5 by 24.5, the hems are all hand embroidered, the damask pattern is of beautiful roses against a lined background very linear-deco, the hand embroidered monogram on the set reads ESF in shades of earth, the set is a very tasteful light Champaign color, the close-up pictures show the colors best. The napkins are in excellent condition, the tablecloth has one well done repair and a small hand darn and I tiny light stain, it is otherwise in very good condition. This set was made when Rayon was considered a luxury fabric. The high quality and finish of the set as well as the hand work on the monogram show that this was an expensive set. |
