Milanese lace handmade circa 1700s This is a length of handmade Milanese lace probably from the 1700s. This lace measures 5 inches in width and is 52 inches long and is made if linen threads. There are a couple of broken brides, it is otherwise in very good condition. I believe the wheaters were added sometime in the late 1800s, old laces were often changed to reflect the fashion trends of the times. This lace had that wonderful cool buttery feel of OLD linen. The lace work is very close .

4216
Very early linen lace handmade 17th or early 18th century! This is a length of very early handmade linen bobbin lace probably 17th or possibly early 18th century. This lace measures 2.5 inches wide and is 3+ yards long, I am only counting 3 yards as the extra foot or so more at one end is damaged, the rest of the lace is in very good –excellent condition. This lace has the coolness (almost cold to the touch) of the very early linen laces, it came from a museum lot of early laces of the 16th and 17th century. The braiding of the lace is tight yet the hand feel is buttery and smooth one of the hallmarks of QUALITY linen. I don’t find lace like this very often!
Circa: 17th or early 18th century
Condition: very good-excellent
Size: 2.5 inches by 3+yards

5118
Early handmade figural lace from homespun linen circa early 1700's This is a length of early handmade figural lace made from homespun fabric circa early 1700's. This lace measures 10 by 110 inches (3 yards 2 inches) the lace is made using homespun linen fabric and removing unwanted threads to make designs, the remaining threads are well wrapped to add strength and become part of the design. The designs are classic for the time period showing dolphins one either side of urns full of flowers with waves along the edges. There are 4 small thin spots, in one area that are pictured, the lace is otherwise in very good condition, I have washed and pressed it. The linen is soft and weighty with the very cool buttery feeling of very early linen.
