This cream linen sheet measures 81 by 110 inches, the center seam and hems are stitched by hand, there is a small red work mono on one corner that reads I G P. There is a thin section in the center that measures about 12 by 24 inches, this this section also has a tear so this part is not usable, the rest of the sheet is good, there is still plenty of good fabric here for a project, I have washed it.

6255

Hand woven Japanese silk brocade obi circa 1700s Gorgeous hand woven Japanese silk brocade obi circa 1700s. This piece measures 12.75 inches wide (25.5 if opened flat) and is 77 inches long, my guess is that it was cut at some point and hemmed perhaps to display. The brocade type is discontinuous, as seen from the back, the threads are only in small areas around the pattern, they do not run to the edge of the fabric, this was popular in weavings of the 1700s. The colors are an antique gold back ground with muted green vegetation with copper. lavender, slate blue and cream flowers, very beautiful and skilled weaving! There is some age oxidation and some small areas of shattering at the fold line which is not at all surprising in a textile this age, the fabric is otherwise in good condition and would display beautifully!
Circa: 1700s
Condition: good
Size: 25.5 by 77 inches
Color: antique gold, green, copper, lavender, slate blue, cream

7024

Heavy homespun linen towel or fabric circa late 1800s Heavy homespun linen towel or fabric circa late 1800s. This oat colored linen towel measures 38 by 58 inches, the hems are hand stitched. The linen is thick and heavy, there are some small stains and I counted 11 holes ranging in size from smaller than a pea to one hole that is an inch long, the rest are 1/2 inch or smaller. The fabric isn't weak in any way, my guess is these came from something acidic that got on the fabric and created the holes. The piece is actually quite sturdy and darning would enable one to use this towel for many, many years, I have washed and pressed it.
Circa: circa late 1800s
Condition: some holes
Size: 38 by 58 inches
Color: oat
