Handmade broderie anglais whitework lace panel or flounce 2nd half 1800s Lovely wide handmade broderie anglaise whitework lace panel or flounce circa 2nd half 1800s. This cream lace panel measures 51 inches in length and is 22 inches deep, it is all hand done, with scalloped bottom edges with hand embroidery and thousands of hand cutwork patterns(each little hole is hand embroidered) which is the hallmark of this type of whitework, among the cutwork are hand embroidered flowers and leaves, there is a finely hand stitched seam where 2 sections of linen were joined before the handwork was done, you can see it in the pictures. There are 2 small holes at the top and a spot at the bottom of one of the scalloped where a piece is torn away, it is otherwise in very good condition, I have washed and pressed it. An incredible amount of handwork went into making this piece, as it's quite literally covered with handwork and is truly beautiful!
