Pair lace sleeves with 17th century Italian lace de-accessioned from museum This is a pair of beautiful lace sleeves with early 17th century Italian lace de-accessioned from a museum. These sleeves still have the tags on them, one side states 17th century Italian lace, the other side gives the donors name which is Cabot. The sleeves measure 17 inches in length 7.5 inches in diameter at the top and 3.75 inches in diameter at the cuff, there are 7 lace covered buttons on each cuff These sleeves were made sometime in the late 1800’s with early handmade lace from the 1600’s (handmade lace being time consuming to make and always expensive and is often recycled over the centuries). The lace is in excellent condition, one of the sleeves has the top lace almost completely removed, it would be fairly easy to stitch it back on if desired. These are gorgeous sleeves that could still be used for a very special gown!

Cotton lawn and Valenciennes lace under sleeves whitework circa 1850's This is a beautiful pair of shear cotton lawn and handmade Valenciennes lace with whitework under sleeves from 1850’s, or perhaps a bit earlier. These sleeves measure 22 inches long including the 3 inch wide lace, are 9 inches wide at the top and 5 inches wide at the cuff which easily fits a modern wrist as shown in the pictures. The fine cotton fabric is stitched by hand using a French seam, the cuff has 4 rows of handmade Valenciennes lace with 2 rows of hand embroidered Swiss whitework flowers , so beautiful and feminine! 1 sleeve has 2 teensy holes and 2 small hand darns in the sleeve, the other sleeve has 1 small hole in the fabric, the lace on both are in excellent condition, the fabric is clean, no stains, no funny smell. 5617

Handmade lace piece maybe lappet Brabant? circa mid 1800s Handmade lace piece possibly Brabant circa mid 1800s. This lace piece measures 6.25 by 35 inches, it looks to be Brabant lace reworked onto machine made mesh to make this piece of which I am unsure of its purpose. The floral design elements are hand done in bobbin lace and the machine mesh is used to fill in the spaces. There are a couple of repairs made with a different shade of mesh, the piece is otherwise in good condition. This is an interesting piece, the floral design elements are lovely and flowing, this could be reworked successfully for a project as the lace is strong.
