Unused hand stenciled Japanese Indigo cotton panel provenance c1930s Wonderful unused traditional stenciled Japanese towel circa 1930s from the Charles E. Mullin collection. This cotton panel measures 13 by 36 inches, it belonged to Charles Mullin who was famous for his work in color and textile dyeing techniques. He was a great collector of textiles with unique coloring, style and dye used, this towel came from that collection. The design on this panel shows a lovely Japanese lady holding a fan with cherry blossoms in the back ground. The panel is unused, there is age patina that will easily come out in the first wash, it is in excellent condition, I have not washed it so it retains its original sizing. Great for framing, display or use.
