5935

Fabric swatch card for dresses circa 1920s Fabric swatch card circa 1920s. This card measures 10 by 16 inches, the fabrics were by Whitco Fabric guaranteed fast colors, it depicts a little girl and her mother out for a spring walk. there is a cardboard slid inside that has the fabric glued onto it, there would have been a number of fabric swatches glued to different cards that one could slide into the pattern cutout so one could see what their dress would look like in that particular fabric, very clever! I only have the one fabric swatch inside the card. The card has a fair amount of age browning and the fabric also has some dirt on it, there are also 3 tears of the cardboard on the woman cut out and a small piece missing, still its an interesting piece of marketing ephemera.
Circa: 1920s
Condition: good-fair

6203

Hand made, hand tooled leather belt, unused Hand made, hand tooled leather belt. This item came from a lot that belonged to the wife of a missionary from the early 1900s, I guessing this is from the same time frame, but I am just guessing. The belt measures 1.75 by 28 inches, the top leather is wine colored with white and turquoise designs, the back is white, the stitching is done by hand, the ends are blunt, there are no markings and no holes or buckles, handmade belts are usually made this way so the buyer can choose their own buckle and have it put on. The belt is rather grubby from long storage which should clean up with a good leather cleaner, it is otherwise in excellent condition, the leather is soft and supple.
Condition: good, unused
Size: 28 inches
Color: wine, cream, turquoise
