5935

Fabric swatch card for dresses circa 1920s Fabric swatch card circa 1920s. This card measures 10 by 16 inches, the fabrics were by Whitco Fabric guaranteed fast colors, it depicts a little girl and her mother out for a spring walk. there is a cardboard slid inside that has the fabric glued onto it, there would have been a number of fabric swatches glued to different cards that one could slide into the pattern cutout so one could see what their dress would look like in that particular fabric, very clever! I only have the one fabric swatch inside the card. The card has a fair amount of age browning and the fabric also has some dirt on it, there are also 3 tears of the cardboard on the woman cut out and a small piece missing, still its an interesting piece of marketing ephemera.
Circa: 1920s
Condition: good-fair

Handmade French beaded purse with heavy silk satin lining Handmade French beaded purse with heavy silk satin lining. This beaded bag measures 9.5 inches wide, 6 inches tall with a 7.5 inch gilded closure. The purse is entirely hand beaded with cream, gold and silver colored beads, the clasp is gilded metal with a paste diamond like clasp, the lining is a gold silk satin with 2 pockets, there is a label that reads hand made in France and a stamp that reads Tury 10 Rue Royale Paris. The bag has definitely seen use, there are some fairly small lipstick red stains on the bottom of the inside, wear on the clasp and closure though it works fine and I just noticed a pea size hole on the side of the bag on the fold, the outside has general use dirt, the bag is otherwise good and still quite usable, no funky smells.
Circa: vintage
Condition: sone flaws
Size: 9.5 inches wide, 6 inches tall with a 7.5 inch gilded closure
Color: cream, gold, silver

P4527

Fancy pantaloons drawers pantettes lace hand stitched monogram 1800's This is a pair of fancy linen lawn pantaloons with the monogram MH, all hand stitched from the Pallinsburn House estate in Northumberland (for more information on this important estate see the article on our home page) circa 3rd quarter of the 1800’s. These pantaloons have a 27 inch waist and are 23 inches long, the bottom edges have handmade Valenciennes lace and hand embroidered whitework, there is a hand embroidered MH on the bottom of one leg the H stands for Hamilton, probably stitched on by the lady herself. The needlework is VERY fine as these belonged to a person of wealth, the stitches are so incredibly tiny you need magnification to see them. There is a fine hand embroidered cord on each side (pictured) in which to put a pretty ribbon, the single button closure is mother of pearl. These pantaloons are in excellent condition, they are strong and appear to have been seldom used, one could wear them today.
Circa: 1880
Condition: Used excellent
Size: 27 inch waist and are 23 inches long

2658

5 wool tambour stitched on cotton panels This is a set of 5 cotton fabric panels with wool tambour stitched flowers. 2 panels measure 30 by 25 inches, 2 panels measure 25 by 43 inches and 1 panel measures 26 by 48 inches. The tambour stitching looks to be machine done, the age is uncertain, my guess is they are probably 50+ years old. The colors are lovely and the fabric is upholstery weight, very strong and supple, they will need to be cleaned but are otherwise in excellent condition. These would make lovely pillows, chair seats, table toppers, etc. The colors in the pictures are accurate, very beautiful!
Circa: mid 1900s
Condition: excellent
Color: cream, reds, pink, green, blue
