2 UNUSED linen damask towels with fringe circa late 1800s. These Ivory linen towels measure 23 by 38 inches not counting the 5 inch long fringe at each end, there is a hand cross stitched monogram on one end in turkey red, the damask design has Hyacinth blooms, very lovely! The towels are in excellent unused condition.

3 RARE Turkish cotton sauna towels Crown monogram dated 1905
This is a set of 3 RARE early Turkish cotton sauna towels, one with crown monogram and dated 1905 that belonged to George II of the Princely House of Saxe-Meiningen (HH Reigning Duke George II of Saxe-Meiningen and Hildburghausen). 2 towels measure 44 by 66 inches and the 3rd measures 44 by 42 inches, one of the large ones has a crown monogram with the cipher G and the date 1905, all 3 towels came from the same estate and are the same time period. Early loop towels like this are quite rare as they were very expensive and hard to get back then, its no surprise that these belonged to royalty and were used in his highness's royal sauna. These towels are very thick, soft and luxurious, they have seen a good amount of use, they all have some fraying at the edges and some re-stitched edges, the one with the monogram and the smaller one are otherwise in good condition, the other large towel has a small hole and 2 faint stains, they are all white-white with turkey red bands at the top. Loop towels are everyday items in today's world, but back then only the very rich had them for their private saunas. Few have survived to the present day.
