Homespun linen towel or bath sheet hand embroidered circa early-mid 1800s This is a homespun linen towel or bath sheet with hand embroidered monogram circa early-mid 1800s. This towel measures 32 by 60 inches not including the fringe, this is a rare size for early towels , the cross stitched monogram reads V (I believe the cross stitching was added at a later time) it is however well done. There is a one inch hand darn and 2 small faint stains, and wear to the fringe, the towel is otherwise in very good condition, I have washed and pressed it. The linen is of medium weight, with a nice slubby texture that would be great for getting dry fast. There were 2 of these large towels, each different that came from the same estate
