Cotton pillow sham cloth covered buttonc circa 1940's This is a cotton pillow sham with cloth covered buttons circa 1940's. This sham measures 14.5 by 18.5, the embroidery in each corner is machine done, there are 3 cloth covered buttons in the back closure. There are 4 brown specks in one corner, the sham is otherwise in very good condition, I have washed and pressed it.

Irish linen pillow sham circa 1940-50's This is a simple elegant Irish linen pillow sham circa 1940-50's. This sham measures 25 by 34 inches and accepts a pillow 21 by 31 inches. The linen is of high quality, it is white and sturdy with a nice drapiness. This sham is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it.

Linen and cotton blend pillow sham Hand embr. EB mono circa 1930's This is a linen and cotton blend pillow sham with a hand embroidered EB monogram circa 1930's. This sham measures 30.5 inches square and takes a pillow 25.5 inches square, the hems are stitched by hand as are the buttonholes, the closure seams are machine stitched, there are 5 small matching MOP buttons. There is a row of fancy drawn work at the edge done by hand, very nice. This pillow sham is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it.

Handmade linen pillow sham with lace monogram circa 1900-1920's This is a linen pillow sham with lace monogram circa 1900-1920's. This sham measures 18 by 24 inches, the side and bottom seam are frenched and stitched on a treadle machine, the button placket and buttonholes are hand stitched with a fine hand with 5 small MOP buttons, the drawn work is also done by hand with wrapped threads, very neat handwork. In one corner is a large punchwork lace HLB monogram. This sham is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. The linen is buttery soft with the fine weight and smooth texture that is no longer made today and can only be found in fine antique linens!

Handmade Victorian layover sham late 1800's This is a lovely handmade Victorian cotton layover sham circa late 1800's or early 1900's. This sham measures 34 by 40 inches, it has many tiny nuns pleats and ribbon lace that once had silk ribbon in it which is long gone, the fragments of it remain at the ends of the lace (pictured), (it would be a simple matter to add the silk ribbon to the sham)the ruffled edges are machine embroidered eyelet lace. There are a few small holes in the eyelet lace the piece is otherwise in good condition, I Have washed and pressed it. Pieces like this always make me think of beach cottages.

Linen Bolster cover pillowcase circa 1870-1900 This is a fine linen bolster cover circa 1870-1900. This cover measures 19.5 by 58 inches, the ends are rounded to take a round bolster pillow. The cover has a 3 button closure with linen buttons, 1 button is missing. The seams are stitched on a treadle machine, the buttonholes are stitched by hand. There are a couple smudges that will wash out, this cover is otherwise in excellent condition, it is clean and pressed. The linen is of very high quality, woven with a high thread count and a wonderful hand that only the good antique linen has.

Early homespun linen bolster cover all hand stitched 1st half 1800s Early homespun all hand stitched linen bolster cover probably mid 1800s or perhaps a bit earlier. This cream bolster cover measures 16.5 by 57 inches, the side seam is hand stitched with tiny little close stitches, the 2 ends are open and the hem is also stitched by hand. This cover is in excellent condition, it is washed and pressed. The linen is heavy with a marvelous slubby texture and is very sturdy! Nice early hand work!

Heavy linen bolster case early 1900s Heavy linen bolster cover circa early 1900s. This cream bolster cover measures 20 by 56 inches, it is made from 2 length of linen machine stitched together lengthwise , the hems are also machine stitched. This was a utilitarian item, nothing fancy but very strong and serviceable, it is in good condition, I have washed and pressed it. The linen is thick and weighty.

Early linen bolster cover all hand stitched with monogram 2nd half 1800s Early handmade linen bolster cover all hand stitched with small monogram circa second half of the 1800s. This bolster cover measures 16 by 56 inches, there is a small faded red cross stitched monogram at one end that reads MB, the ends are open with a tie closure, the hams and seams are hand stitched with beautiful tiny stitches. This cover is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. It always amazes me to see such fine handwork on simple pieces like this. Years ago if something was worth doing, it was worth doing well!
