Early linen bolster cover all hand stitched with monogram 2nd half 1800s Early handmade linen bolster cover all hand stitched with small monogram circa second half of the 1800s. This bolster cover measures 16 by 56 inches, there is a small faded red cross stitched monogram at one end that reads MB, the ends are open with a tie closure, the hams and seams are hand stitched with beautiful tiny stitches. This cover is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. It always amazes me to see such fine handwork on simple pieces like this. Years ago if something was worth doing, it was worth doing well!

This pillowcase measures 17.5 by 27 inches, lovely hand stitched frenched seams with tie ends, the ties are not original to the pillowcase. This pillowcase is in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. Beautiful handwork with good linen.

Cotton pillow case with handmade tatted lace circa 1920-30s Cotton pillow case with hand made tatted lace circa 1920-30s. This pillowcase measures 15 by 18.5 not counting the 4.5 inch hand tatted lace at the edge. The hem is hand hem stitched and the Frenched seam is machine stitched. This sham has one broken bridge in the lace, it is otherwise in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. The cotton fabric is the sturdy kind you find on antique sheets that wears like iron.

Set 3 cotton pillowcases hand crocheted lace trim circa 1910-30s Set of 3 cotton pillowcases with hand crocheted trim circa 1910-30s. These cases measure 18 by 33 inches, the side seams are Frenched and stitched on a machine, the hand crochet lace folds over the top as a closure. These cases were obviously stitched up at home, they are in very good condition, I have washed and pressed them. The cotton is the crisp, sturdy antique kind that wears well.

Pair linen pillowcases with hand tatted lace circa 1920s Pretty pair of linen pillowcases with handmade tatted lace circa 1920s. These white pillowcases measure 21 by 33 inches with and extra 1.5 inches of lace at the ends which is hand stitched to the linen. One case has 2 small holes at the edge, it is otherwise in very good condition, the other case is excellent, I have washed and pressed them. The linen is soft and drapey.

Early homespun linen pillowcase all hand stitched circa 1800s Early American homespun linen pillowcase all hand stitched circa 1800s. This light cream linen pillowcase measures 16.5 by 38 inches, the side seams and hem is hand stitched with very tiny little stitches, I have a close-up pic showing how tiny they are. This pillowcase was obviously made by someone skilled with a needle. There are 2 repairs made by hand stitching a linen patch over the hole, one is about 1/2 inch square and the other is 1.5 inches, there are also several holes, some are just little nibbles, 4 are up to 1/2 inch long, still, its an early textile that is very finely woven by a skilled weaver. This pillowcase came from an Estate in Springfield Mass. that had a good collection of early hand woven textiles.
