Handmade cotton crochet bedspread with peacocks and butterflies c1890-1910 Large antique cotton hand crocheted lace bedspread with a peacock perched inside an arbor circa about 1890-1910. This beautiful lace spread measures 96 inches wide and is 100 inches long, it will fit a queen or a king bed, the bottom corners have a cutout for the bedposts. The design has a large peacock perched on a stand in the center of a grape arbor surrounded by butterflies, the scalloped edges has flowers inside the scallops. There are 3 small repairs (less than an inch), the spread is otherwise in very good strong condition, I have washed it and dried it outside in our fresh New Hampshire air and sunshine so its ready to use on your bed! This is a substantial, weighty spread, the cotton is very soft and drapey.
Circa: 1890-1910
Condition: very good

Antique crochet lace bedspread or throw with Statue of Liberty c1900-20s Antique hand crochet figural bedspread or throw with the statue of Liberty that reads Liberty for All circa 1900-20s. This spread measures 52 by 84 inches, it will fit a twin bed or work as a cover for a day bed or a throw. The thread feels like a cotton blended with rayon (this was a luxury combination before the 30s and quite pricey), the edges are scalloped with miss Liberty herself standing amid bouquets of beribboned flowers. The piece is in a light beige with some faded areas that can be seen clearly in the pictures, I did wash this piece, but the color variations did not change, the spread is otherwise in very good condition, it is strong, weighty and drapey.

5193

Pair lace bedspreads and bolster covers handmade circa 1900 This is a pair of lace bedspreads and bolster covers, handmade circa about 1900. These cream lace bedspreads measure 47 inches wide with a 19 inch ruffled edge on the sides (85 inches total) and are 73 inches long with a 19 in drop (92 inches total) and split corners for the bedposts. The 2 bolster covers measure 24 by 64 with 4 inch wide cluny lace on the ends and more lace as inserts. The centers, top edges and bottoms of the spreads are trimmed with handmade cluny lace hand stitched to the mesh, the seams are also hand stitched. The bedspreads are in excellent condition as are the bolster covers, it looks like the maker fell a bit short of the insert lace so added mesh to fill it in, you can see this in the picture, this will not be noticeable at all if you tuck this part under the pillow or over the top out of sight. I have washed and pressed this set, the lace is strong, I don't think it was ever used much judging by the overall condition of the set.
Circa: 1900
Condition: excellent
Size: 85 by 92 inches
Color: cream

6901

Gorgeous, large handmade figural Cantu bobbin lace bedspread, rare, c1900 Gorgeous, large handmade figural Cantu bobbin lace bedspread, rare, circa about 1900. This ecru lace bedspread measures 100 inches wide by 94 inches in length, it is shown on a queen bed and looks fabulous on it, it would also work well on a king bed, its really hard to find lace bedspreads in a size big enough to fit a queen or king bed! This is a very high quality Cantu lace, it doesn't have all those cut edges one sees in the cheaper Cantu, this is the GOOD stuff! The design elements have a central piece with the classic Greek lady reclining while being served by winged cherubs or Putti and a lovely bird flying overhead, this is frames by graceful curls and urns of flowers, there are more flowers at the head of the spread and on the side, really lovely handwork. There are 4 tiny little pink spots that faded some when I washed it so with a little more work will probably come out completely, but they are really very small, the bedspread is otherwise in excellent, strong condition, I have washed and pressed it. The curls of the Cantu lace are small which again shows the over all quality of this piece.
Circa: about 1900
Condition: excellent, 4 pink specs
Size: 100 inches wide by 94 inches in length

6917

Handmade lace bedspread project or cutter circa 1900 Handmade lace bedspread project or cutter circa 1900. This ivory lace bedspread measures 72 by 96 inches, it is made using machine made mesh and adding a handmade lace insert and trim. As you can see in the pics, this spread has problems, there are holes in the lace and mesh and some black marks, the holes could be stitched but I do not hold hope of getting the black marks out, I would call this piece fair to poor condition, the mesh and lace is still strong so it can be repaired and used or cut up for a project or 2, I have washed it.
Circa: circa 1900
Condition: fair to poor for cutting

This ivory lace bedspread measures 74 inches wide by 87 inches long, the lace is hand made, stitched to machine made mesh with pretty trim added. As you can clearly see in the pictures, there are quite a number of holes in the mesh and broken bridges in the lace, still it could be repaired and used or cut up for projects, the mesh and lace is still strong, I have washed and pressed it.
